After a decade of living in chronic "fight or flight" mode, I suffered from chronic inflammation, fibromyalgia, migraines, hormonal imbalances, and much more. I did speak with my physicians about my symptoms and asked for help. Of course, the appropriate referrals and testing were ordered, which indicated that everything was "normal". They prescribed medication, most of which did not help me.
I stumbled upon Functional Medicine several years ago and I found it very interesting. Functional Medicine is a more integrative approach to symptoms and conditions, which identifies the "Root Cause" of the symptoms or conditions. In some cases, resolving the root cause of your condition will alleviate some of your symptoms and perhaps other conditions as well.
